Welcome Anduril Industries
Ready to bring engineering excellence to Anduril's YFQ-44A Fury.
Howdy Georgia.
I am an aerospace engineering graduate with a systems mindset and a drive to bring bold ideas to life. Palmer Luckey’s visionary and industry shifting approach to the well established aerospace & defense industry has inspired me to dream big. The employees’ innovative and courageous approach to these projects is admirable. The more I learn about Anduril, the more I am convinced it is where I belong. I will show you how I match or exceed all the qualifications for the position and am a perfect fit for Anduril’s culture.
Mechanical Engineer - Air Vehicles
What I have done:
Led the build subteam and manufactured parts for ISR UAV.
Used softwares such as XFLR5, Advanced Aircraft Analysis, Solidworks, and Matlab to design, evaluate, and integrate hardware onto the system. Find a design review for aircraft stability using XFLR5 here. I authored and presented sections 4, 5, and 6.
Implemented physics knowledge to real world applications.
Led design reviews such as PDR (preliminary design review) and CDR (critical design review, last step before mass production). The CDR can be downloaded here. Slides I presented, 20-27, 36, 109-114, 116-120, 123-127.
Analyzing and repairing failures as seen on slide 119. (the airplane was flight ready and on display at the design review)
Qualifications:
Multiple years of experience as a mechanical engineer working on Air Vehicles. Also multiple years experience working on projects such as instillation of a solar powered water well, construction of a 42 ft x 10 ft x 7 ft greenhouse, and work as a fire systems engineer in commercial buildings in South Texas.
Experience across many different projects and fields of work integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems.
Used Solidworks (CAD) to design components, then export them to a manufacturer. I ran the laser cutter for wood components, metal components were exported to our engineering lab as the equipment is specialized.
Recently completed a degree in aerospace engineering which is a fluids focused subset of mechanical engineering.
Able to perform trade studies and evaluate vendor performance. Example of trade studies here.
Knowledge of engineering analysis methods and software such as StarCCM and Abicus.
